Welcome to the Maryland Chapter of the American Sewing Guild (ASG).

Whether you love to sew or want to learn, the Maryland Chapter is the place for you!  We have over 300 members with all skill levels.

As a member, you will learn or enhance your level of sewing by attending one of our many Neighborhood Groups (NGs), participating in our sewing retreats and workshops, or taking one of the free on-line classes available at www.asg.org. Our NGs meet at various times and locations around the state –– see the full list here, and contact neighborhoodgroups@marylandasg.org to confirm meeting times and locations if you haven't been to a meeting yet.

While attending a NG you will share with others who love sewing as much as you do. You can visit any of them twice before becoming a member. With 17 Neighborhood Groups, we think there's likely to be one near you, but if there isn't, why not start one yourself?  We have lots of resources to help you get started and will support you on the way -- contact neighborhoodgroups@marylandasg.org .

Our members participate in various community service projects, including our Chapter-wide Duffel Bag Project for 2016. We also host some very popular events throughout the year.  Our upcoming chapter-wide events, including sewing retreats and workshops,  are always highlighted on the front page of our web site -- see "Save the Date" on the right-hand side of the page.

In addition to the benefit of participation in the Maryland ASG Chapter and your Neighborhood Group, you'll also receive several benefits and discounts as a member of the American Sewing Guild.  Visit asg.org for more information and to become a member.

As a Chapter member, you will enjoy access to many retailer discounts; free attendance to any NG meeting; member-rate admission to chapter-wide events; membership in our online discussion list at Yahoo! Groups, and a subscription to our quarterly newsletter, Nimble Thimble, which is distributed in PDF format online and via regular mail.
