Open Letter to Members
It is that time of year again, when we ask that you consider your role in the Chapter. Are you getting what you want out of your membership? Would you like to have more of a voice in how things are decided?
President, Secretary, and Treasurer are the positions that are elected each year. The others positions on the Chapter Advisory Board (CAB) are appointed. Terms run for one calendar year beginning in January.
There is a wide range of knowledge and experience among our members, and each one of us is interested in sewing. So everyone is qualified to run for one of these positions. Won’t you please consider running for office?
It would also benefit the chapter if there was representation from various areas of the state.
Please consider becoming a part of the governing body of our chapter and help lead this wonderful organization into the future! If you are interested, contact the Chair of the Nominating Committee, Myrtha Allen (email@example.com) or you may contact me (410-917-9648 or firstname.lastname@example.org).
Thank you for your consideration, Stephanie DeAbreu, President Maryland Chapter
p.s. In order for there to be a smooth transition each year as new leadership takes place, we would like to put into place and/or expand the committees that advise and support many of the CAB positions. In that way new leadership is developed. If you have a special talent or interest in special events, media (newsletter, social media), community service, or bookkeeping, we would love to hear from you. If you even think you may be interested, please contact me.
p.p.s. Please remember that this is a volunteer organization of which you are an important member, and it needs your participation to make it thrive.
